ACTIVITIES:
1.Intro to On-going Mr. Potato Head project. View rubric, example, directions and images to use. WE WILL
SPEND 10-15 MIN. EVERY MONDAY ON THIS.
2.Take pictures for Mr. Potato Head (Mr. P)
3.Review photos that represent Questions #1-2 (What Story Am I telling? And What Is the Visual Focal
Point?)
4.Discuss how to and practice uploading pictures from the camera.
5.Post photos to PADLET
6.Discuss Questions #4-6: What is in the background/foreground?, Am I Close Enough?, What Is the Main
Source of Light?
Tuesday
BELL WORK: Open Mr. Potato Head CHECKLIST and your background image(s) from yesterday.
ACTIVITIES:
1.Review photos that represent Questions #1-2 (What Story Am I telling? And What Is the Visual Focal
Point?)
IN PHOTOSHOP:
2. Create new document for Mr. Potato Head project: 8x10 240 resolution
3. Move your background image INTO the project document that you just created.
4. Resize image to fit using free-transform (Ctrl+T). Remember to check the box that constrains the proportions.
5. Save SAVE SAVE.
6. Open the potato image. Delete the background using the magic eraser.
7. Move the potato into the background image.
8. With the MOVE TOOL, hold ALT and click and drag two copies of you potato.
9. Name all layers.
10. Resize (Ctrl+T) the potatoes and move them into position.
11. Open both of the potato parts images. Use the magic wand to delete the white background.
12. Use the LASSO tool to draw around the parts that you want to use. Use the MOVE tool to drag them into your project.
13. RESIZE and POSITION
14. SAVE SAVE SAVE.
Wednesday
BELL WORK:
1.Open Mr. Potato Head Checklist AND Directions.
2. Open your Mr. P project from yesterday.
ACTIVITIES:
1. Discuss HOW and WHY to use 'groups'.
2. Put all potatoes in their own group.
3. Add parts to all potatoes. IN THEIR OWN GROUP.
4. Discuss WARP and PERSPECTIVE transforming parts.
5. Position all potatoes.
6. Add color and gradients to all parts.
